Hauppauge, NY (PRWEB) August 20, 2012
Walkers Shortbread, the bakery from the Scottish Highlands beloved by generations of families worldwide, is a new face to the fast-growing social media platform, Pinterest.
To celebrate their entrance into the Pinterest community and to raise funds for their charitable partnership with the ASPCA® (American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals®), Walkers is launching the “Pin It” Forward to the ASPCA Contest.
Beginning on Monday, August 20, 2012, Pinterest users can make a $1 donation to the ASPCA simply by repinning a Walkers contest “pin,” a unique image created for this promotion. Participants will simultaneously be entered to win a Walkers prize package and an additional $100 donation to the ASPCA made in their name.
“We are well into our 2012 partnership with the ASPCA, continuing to donate 10 cents from the sale of every ‘Scottie Dog’ cookie item, and we will make a donation of at least $25,000 by year’s end. This Pinterest contest is a way of doing a little something extra for the ASPCA, while also engaging the dynamic Pinterest community with a rewarding promotion,” says Lisa Sherman, Brand Manager at Walkers Shortbread. “Our goal is to raise an additional $1,000 for the ASPCA through this online initiative, as well as to raise awareness of the organization’s mission. We hope our fans will take this simple opportunity to help fund their mission to support animal welfare.”

It’s a great way for us to engage with our customers, and we think this contest is a fun way to spread the word and lend even more of a helping hand to the ASPCA.”
