AUGUST 20, 2012, The international law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP announced today that Jacob B. Pankowski, Chair of the firm’s Government Contracts Practice Group, has been elected Chair of the National Defense Industrial Association’s (NDIA) Procurement Planning Committee’s Legal Committee. Pankowski served as the Vice Chair of NDIA’s Legal Committee for the past year and previously served as the two-term Chair of its Contract and Acquisition Management Committee.
NDIA exists to create a legal and ethical forum for the defense industry and United States government on national security issues. According to NDIA’s website, the Legal Committee acts on legal issues facing government contractors, including statutes, regulations, court decisions and federal agency policies that relate to the federal acquisition and procurement process.
Pankowski works out of the firm’s Washington, D.C. office and focuses his practice on representing government contractors and subcontractors of various sizes in their dealings and disputes with local, state and federal governments. He counsels clients participating in the federal and state homeland security and defense marketplaces, addressing a variety of issues relating to contract formation, contract performance and compliance with a wide array of statutory and regulatory requirements.
