The apps are for travelers who want to make the most out of a daytrip to a city.

Let’s Go Publications recently launched its first comprehensive line of mobile apps for the iPhone, iPod Touch, and Android. Available for 25 cities, the Let’s Go Explore apps feature five short walking tours each to give travelers a taste of their city of choice. Written, designed, and developed entirely by students at Let’s Go, the world’s leader in student travel, the apps are part of a company-wide initiative to expand Let’s Go’s digital presence.
“The apps are created for travelers who want to make the most out of a daytrip to a city,” said world traveler and Managing Editor Mark Warren. “Fast travelers who are in a city for a short time don’t need an entire guidebook—they’re looking for the best things to do in a city from someone they trust, and that’s exactly what the Let’s Go Explore apps provide.”
Each tour is inspired by a different witty and irreverent travel theme and contains honest reviews of listings from student researchers at Let’s Go. Complete with maps, GPS tracking, and offline walking directions, each app covers a diverse range of places, ranging from restaurants to cultural attractions to nightlife.
The cities featured in the Let’s Go Explore app line currently include Amsterdam, Athens, Barcelona, Berlin, Boston, Brussels, Budapest, Dublin, Edinburgh, Florence, Istanbul, Jerusalem, Lisbon, London, Madrid, Milan Munich, New York City, Paris, Prague, Rome, Sevilla, Tel Aviv, Venice, and Vienna. They will also soon be available for the Nook tablet.
The free mobile apps are a teaser for the official Let’s Go mobile app, which will be released for the iPhone, iPod Touch, and Android in the coming weeks. The official Let’s Go mobile app, which will also be free to download, allows users to pick the full city guides they want to purchase to access thousands of listings and extensive tips to save travelers time and money while on the road. Users can plan their travel itineraries directly from the listings in the app as well as add own customized listings.
“With the Let’s Go app, a traveler can access all the travel information he needs while on the road,” said Warren. “Having all of this available from the fingertips will be invaluable for today’s student traveler who wants to make the most of her time abroad without emptying her wallet.”
The Let’s Go app will launch with 40+ cities, with full maps, GPS tracking, offline directions, travel blogs, photos, and videos. To be notified when the Let’s Go app launches, users can sign up for the Let’s Go newsletter.
