The storage unit, which contains solely donated items, will be auctioned off in Highland, California at one of Storage Outlet's Inland Empire locations. Through their combined efforts, Storage Outlet and Charity Storage have been holding storage auctions to raise money for local charities. The company is just a part of a larger network of storage facilities which have partnered with Charity Storage, a non-profit organization, this year. Storage companies in the network allow departing tenants, current tenants, auction buyers, local residents and businesses to donate items to the Charity Storage unit in their facility. Any donor who gives items receives a tax-deductible receipt. When the storage facility holds public auctions, the Charity Storage unit is sold and funds raised are directed to local and national charities.

Storage Outlet has been rated the safest and most convenient self-storage facility in Southern California.
