David J. Dykeman to Present at MD+DI's MedTech Supplier Partnerships Conference

David J. Dykeman, a shareholder, registered patent attorney, and co-chair of Greenberg Traurig’s Intellectual Property Department in the Boston office, will be a featured speaker at Medical Device + Diagnostic Industry’s (MD+DI's) MedTech Supplier Partnerships Conference, August 22-23, at the Sheraton Hotel in Boston’s Back Bay.

On Wednesday, August 22 at 1:30 pm, Dykeman will present “Intellectual Property (IP) Issues and Open Innovation Challenges When Working with Suppliers,” which will address:

Identifying the IP challenges with product design development and supplier relationships.

Determining the importance of patent protection to a medical device company.

Establishing the necessary measures and terms in supplier contracts to secure patent protection and address ownership.

Managing and mitigating IP risk when working both domestically and internationally.

Efficiently integrating a robust patent strategy into a product development plan under patent reforms initiated by Congress, the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO), and the Supreme Court.

A registered patent attorney with over 15 years of experience in patents, intellectual property, and licensing, Dykeman’s practice focuses on securing strategic worldwide intellectual property protection and related business strategy for high-tech clients, with particular expertise in life sciences, medical devices, biotechnology and healthcare IT. Dykeman serves on the Board of Directors of the Massachusetts Medical Device Industry Council (MassMEDIC), and on the Editorial Advisory Board of Medical Device + Diagnostic Industry (MD+DI) Magazine. He was appointed the founding Co-Chair of the ABA Section of Science & Technology Law's Medical Device Committee and serves on the Massachusetts Life Sciences Collaborative Research, Innovation & Commercialization Task Force.

An author of over 35 articles and a speaker at over 30 conferences on medical devices and life sciences intellectual property, Dykeman was honored as a “40 Medtech Innovator Under 40” by MD+DI magazine, and was named one of the top 250 Patent and Technology Licensing Practitioners in the world by Intellectual Asset Management (IAM) Magazine.
