The online toolkit allows our U.S. hospice partners to learn what others are doing to benefit programs in Africa so that their own efforts can be creative and successful
Alexandria, VA (PRWEB) August 21, 2012
FHSSA is pleased to announce the launch of a valuable new online resource for its U.S. hospice partners to share information and experiences, The FHSSA Partnership Toolkit.
FHSSA facilitates partnerships between 90 U.S. hospice programs and care providers in 14 African nations.
The new toolkit allows U.S. programs to share best practices, innovations, and lessons learned with one another, in order to make their partnerships as rich and beneficial as possible. As an online resource, this toolkit allows for FHSSA and partners to add shared resources as partnerships grow and face new challenges and successes. The toolkit is available for all partners at http://www.fhssa.org/partnertoolkit .
While each FHSSA partnership is unique and focused on the needs of its African partner, the new toolkit will provide practical advice and insight that will be useful to partners on both sides of the Atlantic.
“Communication and information exchange are key components to the impact of our Partnership program. The online toolkit allows our U.S. hospice partners to learn what others are doing to benefit programs in Africa so that their own efforts can be creative and successful,” said John Mastrojohn, executive director of FHSSA.
The Partnership program, established in 1999 pairs U.S. hospice and palliative care organization with African programs offering palliative care with the goal that the two organizations will share ideas, information and best practices and that the African programs will gain technical assistance, support, and most importantly, friendship. This program is at the core of FHSSA’s vision of a world where individuals and families facing serious illness, death, and grief will experience the best that humankind can offer.
