Partners Worldwide Haiti, the lead member of the 100k Jobs Haiti Initiative, is hosting the Third “Buy Haitian, Restore Haiti” Conference in order to bring together key players in the Haitian economy and to provide a forum for NGOs, international organizations, and the Haitian government to learn about local Haitian businesses, engage in reconstruction discussions, and develop partnerships suited for the new Haitian marketplace. The agenda includes keynotes by David Klein, Private Sector Program Analyst for the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), and Davidson Toussaint, CEO of Haiti Tourism Inc., as well as information sessions by buyers and suppliers, afternoon breakout sessions, and extended trade fair to maximize networking opportunities. Exhibitors and attendees are encouraged to bring samples, brochures, or pictures that highlight the quality of their products or services.

The Third “Buy Haitian, Restore Haiti” conference builds upon the success of previous conferences, which have attracted approximately 500 attendees. Fifty percent of businesses reported new business contracts and seventy percent of organizations reported increased local purchasing as a result of attending a prior “Buy Haitian, Restore Haiti” conference.

“We want to tell the world that "export quality" items can be found right here in Haiti, and we also want to tell other Haitian companies that it is indeed possible to tap into the NGO-market. The Buy Haitian, Restore Haiti Conference is a wonderful platform for these messages”, said Evelien de Gier, Co-Owner of Maxima SA, a Haitian business that has benefited from networking at past conferences.

“Haiti’s economy is expected to grow at over 7 percent in 2013,” said Daniel Jean-Louis, Director of Partners Worldwide Haiti and founder of the 100k Jobs Haiti Initiative. “The “Buy Haitian, Restore Haiti” conference is a platform and connector that will help sustain this growth and empower Haitian businesses for a new, innovative and profitable market place in Haiti.”

Partners Worldwide Haiti, members of the 100k Jobs Haiti Initiative and the co-sponsors of the “Buy Haitian, Restore Haiti” conference seek to connect key players in the new Haitian economy and develop a foundation for partnerships that increase local procurement and job creation.
