150 Year-Old NY-based Child Support Services Organization to Use Salsa for Fundraising, Communication and Advocacy Efforts

Salsa Labs, Inc. (Salsa), creator of the online and fully, integrated platform for nonprofit fundraising, communications and advocacy announced today the newest addition to its roster of clients, The Children’s Aid Society. The New York City-based nonprofit serves underprivileged youth and their families throughout their childhood –from prenatal counseling and assistance to college and job preparatory programs. Founded in 1853, The Children’s Aid Society has more than 45 locations in all five boroughs and Westchester County.

Salsa will work with The Children’s Aid Society to provide a comprehensive supporter management solution focused on maintaining supporter and donation data, e-communication outreach and event management. The Children’s Aid Society plans to employ Salsa’s unique technology to customize ticketing, registration and donor management for their wide variety of events. Additionally, they hope to create an online storefront using the Salsa platform wherein interested supporters can create a registry for gifts to the organization.

Earlier this summer, The Children’s Aid Society joined forces with other youth-centric organizations in New York City to form the Campaign for Children, an advocacy effort designed to save childcare and after-school programs from proposed budget cuts by Mayor Michael Bloomberg. Through public rallies, petitions and letter writing outreach, the Campaign for Children organized parents and advocates to make their voices heard by their locally elected officials. On July 1, 2012, the Campaign for Children achieved their goals as significant funding for these vital programs was restored as part of Mayor Bloomberg’s fiscal year budget for 2013.
