Pennsylvania based Landis Homes has chosen HealthMEDX Vision for their Electronic Health Record (EHR). A revitalized focus for the organization on a comprehensive clinical solution was at the center of the decision.
After a detailed review process that included organization wide input, Landis Homes will move forward with the HealthMEDX Vision solution for their EHR solution. Driving the search was an every pressing need to have access to clinical tools and data to properly care for the 700 plus persons receiving care from Landis on a daily basis. Utilization of EHR combined with the ability to obtain quantifiable metrics and reporting were necessary for Landis to properly prepare for the future of health care delivery.
“We had an interoperability and workflow study performed for our organization”, stated Eva Bering, Vice President of Operations for Landis Homes. “What we found were duplicated and manual processes throughout. We knew it was time to make a change. Clinical functionality was so critical to our success with a change that we hired an RN with experience in clinical system development and implementation to help outline the processes we want to address with a new system.”
Eva went on to explain. “We had a wide range of input from all disciplines. The steering committee established clinical, financial and technology groups to identify priorities within their areas. For example, single password entry was essential as was avoidance of duplicate entry for the same information. The committee was also looking for a system that allowed creation of dashboards and ease of report writing. HealthMEDX Vision provided clinical integration our clinicians needed and back end reporting we required. With its push technology design, Vision was the solution we wanted.”
Making a move to an electronic solution to address all clinical needs means many of Landis’s clinical staff will be operating in an EHR for the first time. Landis involved multiple departments as well as various levels of staff users and disciplines in the decision process to ensure end-users were satisfied with the solution decision. HealthMEDX Vision provided a properly designed solution that could deliver all the data and tools each user’s needed within a single click.
The HealthMEDX Vision solution will also provide Landis Homes one of the few systems in long-term and post acute care that is ONC-ATCB Certified 2011/2012 for meaningful use while also being CCHIT 2011 Long Term and Post Acute Care (LTPAC) Certified. HealthMEDX dedication to industry standards like those covered within these certifications along with a detailed understanding of interoperability needs helped make the final decision for the Landis Homes team.

Landis Homes will bring on the full HealthMEDX Vision solution including CRM as well as the iCare solution for physician order completion via an iPhone or iPad. Implementation of the solution is set to begin January of 2013.
