Author E. Smith had always wanted to write. It was one of those “I will start tomorrow” moments for her. After years of putting off writing, she finally started going on pension and began to craft delightful tales for the young (and the young at heart). Her debut work, The Adventures Of Sir Ambrose Elephant guarantees her a place amongst authors to look out for in the children’s picture book genre.

Richly conceived, this perfectly-framed tale revolves around a young gentlemanly South African elephant named Sir Ambrose Elephant. He likes to travel to unknown places at the spur of the moment. In this first installment of the The Adventures Of Sir Ambrose Elephant series, he travels to the city and meets strange and funny characters on his way. From each character he comes across with, he collects nuggets of wisdom that also remind readers to never forget their own set of morals and values, too.

The pages of this wonderfully told story are also jam-packed with astonishingly detailed illustrations bursting forth with color and life. Parents will also find The Adventures Of Sir Ambrose Elephant as an excellent read-aloud to young ones. The delight in reading Smith not only comes from her catchy texts nor vibrant book spreads, it roots down to the fact that this outstanding work of hers by turns fascinates and educates.

This book will be featured at the 2012 Frankfurt Book Fair in Frankfurt, Germany, on October 10-14, 2012.
