CEO for debt collection agency Rapid Recovery Solution offers response to the current inaccurate “robo-signed” documents being used for credit card debt collection.

On August 27th, Rapid Recovery Solution, a debt collection agency, responded to an article published for CBS Money Watch which suggests that some collection agencies working for credit card companies may be tracking down consumers with inaccurate “robo-signed” documents.

According to CBS Money Watch, various credit card companies are in the process of collecting billions of dollars in delinquent loans. The article states that “consumers are claiming in dozens of lawsuits that the lenders have been unable to show that they actually owe the debt and are pursuing them with fabricated documents and generic testimony.” In addition, the article states that many consumers claim that the collection is unwarranted as they owe nothing at all. As expressed on CBS Money Watch, many debt collection agencies purchase bad loans from banks, which can be accidentally sold without the necessary paperwork that came from the original loan. The article explains that for this reason, many people may be harassed for debt because they have a similar name or Social Security number as someone who owes.

John Monderine, CEO and owner of Long Island based debt collection agency Rapid Recovery Solution, offers his advice for anyone suffering from these unjustified collection calls and letters. According to Monderine, “When it comes to these debts demand proof that you actually owe the debt in writing. If the collection agency provides it, be prepared to settle up. If not they don’t have a leg to stand on and demand they write off the debt.”

The article, written by Kathy Kristof, gives additional recommendations to those who are battling against unwarranted collection calls and letters. Kristof advises to obtain the contact information of the debt collector who is calling. In addition, she recommends demanding written proof of the debt, sending a letter to debt collectors explaining that you don’t believe the debt is yours, and possibly contacting your local attorney general.
