PORTLAND, Ore. (PRWEB) August 23, 2012
Sonetics, the leader in team communication solutions for challenging environments, today announced the availability of its new SON200 Series Digital Intercom, which enables Sonetics system configurations interfaced with up to four radios and four additional devices such as cell phones and global positioning system (GPS) units. The new release supports over 400 different radio models to provide simulcast interoperability between multiple crews, departments, contractors, or jurisdictions, improving operational efficiencies and worker safety. The Digital Intercom is compatible with all Sonetics’ communication headset systems and can be used with new or existing radio configurations.
“The new Digital Intercom integrates into Sonetics systems that use wireless headsets to provide continuous hands-free full-duplex local team communication,” said Carl Azar, Director of Marketing at Sonetics. “When teams need to communicate by two-way radio, the Digital Intercom enables workers to continuously monitor multiple mobile radios and to transmit via a PTT button on their headsets. Unique to Sonetics, these features give crews the flexibility to include all parties on and off a work site in critical communications.”
Sonetics wireless communication headsets improve work crew efficiency and safety via continuous communication and the ability to give immediate verbal warnings. Other features of the devices include:
When combined with Sonetics wireless base stations and headsets, the SON200 Digital Intercom supports up to 40 wireless headset users per system. The unit can also handle up to 10 wired headsets or a mix of wireless and wired headsets. In addition, the Digital Intercom offers a variety of features that improve control and ease-of-use, including the ability to completely program and adjust radio activity, priority, volume and squelch from the faceplate to meet each customer’s specific operational requirements. Furthermore, the unit provides 90 dB SNR audiophile-quality sound and supports multiple waterproof remote control heads for outside installation or for multiple users in an incident command center. The Digital Intercom is engineered to be rugged for mounting in or on a vehicle dashboard, and runs on 12VDC power. The unit preserves customers’ existing investment in mobile radios while providing a “future-proof” package that will accommodate the addition of future communication equipment.
The Sonetics SON200 Series Digital Intercoms are available by the end of August for new and existing customers. Sonetics’ systems will be demonstrated in booth #1812 at the APWA International Public Works Congress & Exposition, Aug. 26-29, 2012 in Anaheim, Calif.
