Historical Clothing Realm sweeps RPG-lovers into the fantasy realm of the Hyborian Kingdoms with products based on the computer game “Age of Conan.” These official replicas reflect the pseudo-historical world of the Conan tales, making these pieces suitable for gaming-addicts and for a variety of role playing events.
“Age of Conan” is a massively multi-player online role-playing game released in 2008 and re-released in 2011 in a free-to-play version. The game is set in the world created by Robert E. Howard, author of the original Conan stories. These tales were originally published in "Weird Tales" pulp fiction magazines in the 1930s. Conan is part of a fictional barbarian tribal group of early Europe. He becomes a respected warrior in his teenage years, then goes on to become a thief, outlaw, mercenary, and pirate as he travels and undergoes various adventures. Despite his muscle-head appearance, Conan uses both brains and brawn to conquer his enemies. As an adult, Conan begins commanding troops of men, reaching new levels of ambition as he conquers the kingdom of Aquilonia.
The computer game picks up the story after Conan dominates of the Throne of Aquilonia, only to be threatened by ancient evils that seek to overthrow him. The creators of “Age of Conan” strove to honor the world in Howard’s stories, creating a hybrid of Roman, Mongolian, and Babylonian ancient cultures, giving the setting a sense of history and complexity. The game allows players to create their own avatars that are not available to be played on other servers. Players can engage in combat individually or cooperate to fight as a team against other bands or non-player armies. A unique feature of “Age of Conan” is its “real combat” system, which provides each enemy with different target areas for the player to attack, enabling more active engagement for the players.
Amid the range of merchandise, Historical Clothing Realm offers officially licensed Age of Conan replicas and the Conan Complete Set of Armor.
This set includes:
The armor is made of a soft, durable polyurethane, rather than metal, making it ideal for LARP and other forms of active role-playing.
