WASHINGTON, D.C. (PRWEB) August 28, 2012
Disabled Veterans National Foundation (http://www.dvnf.org), a non-profit veterans service organization that focuses on helping men and women who serve and return home wounded or sick after defending our safety and our freedom, will be providing transportation to approximately 240 veterans to attend the New York Call event on Saturday, August 25th beginning at 11am EST.
The 9th Annual New York Call event will be held in Eisenhower Park, in New York City for low-income individuals in the New York area. Individuals in attendance will have the opportunity to get support and education across a variety of topics, including: financial aid, women’s support, health and wellness, employment, and many more. The veterans that DVNF will transport are located in the Long Island area. This will give these area veterans the opportunity to attend the event together and receive essential health and employment support. They will also be participating in the festivities taking place during and after the event.
In addition to transportation, DVNF is donating 250 care kits containing many basic, but necessary items to the local veteran shelters. These kits have been proven to be very beneficial to the veterans to whom they have been given in the past.
