Convening at the third-annual North American Bed Bug Summit, representatives from government agencies, the housing sector, consumer industries, academia and more will hear new research findings and consumer protection regulations related to controlling the spread of bed bugs. The event will be hosted by BedBug Central, a leading resource for bed bug information.
This two-day Summit titled, “BedBug University: North American Summit 2012” will be held Sept. 6 -7 at the Red Rock Casino, Resort & Spa in Las Vegas, NV. The Summit will provide an educational blue-print for all affected industries in the battle against bed bugs.
According to Jeffrey White, Technical Director for BedBug Central, assembling a variety of affected industries under one roof is important to long-term bed bug control nation-wide.

Joining the regular line up of speakers this year are representatives from the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) who will discuss the development of a standardized process for testing insecticide efficacy will also provide progress updates on regulating EPA exempt bed bug products.
Spokespeople from the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) will also be present to discuss truth-in-advertising laws and how this might affect the claims bed bug product manufactures assert about their products.
In addition the Summit is an unparalleled opportunity to learn from leading entomologists and bed bug experts from around the world. The most pressing and recent research topics this year include: the health risks associated with bed bugs, better treatments methods in low-income housing, genetics, population movements, new detection methods and much more.
The educational content of the Summit will be supplemented by, EXPOcentral, an exhibition hall of more than 50 of the latest bed bug related product vendors, services, control technologies and detection devices.
