Palo Alto, CA (PRWEB) August 27, 2012
IntApp, Inc., provider of the most-adopted ethical walls software for law firms, today announced that Burr & Forman LLP, a Southeast regional firm with over 250 lawyers, has selected IntApp Wall Builder to enforce ethical screens and manage information security as part of its initiative to adopt Microsoft SharePoint as a document management system.
Wall Builder is a web-based ethical walls and confidentiality management software application that enables organizations to centrally control, monitor and report on user access permissions across multiple applications, including document management, accounting, portal, CRM, time entry and records management systems. It also automates notifications to individuals subject to specific policies and tracks acknowledgments for compliance purposes.
“Our firm made the decision to roll out Microsoft SharePoint for document management and needed a way to implement essential confidentiality controls, particularly the ability to explicitly grant and deny users access to specific information, and to update matter team membership over time,” said David Michel, Chief Information Officer, Burr & Forman LLP. “We chose Wall Builder because it’s already being used by other organizations to secure Microsoft SharePoint DMS and we were confident that IntApp had the real-world experience to successfully execute our project on time and on budget.”
Law firms must closely manage and track internal access to client information for many reasons. These include waiver-driven ethical screens, client outside counsel guidelines, and compliance with regulations such as the HITECH Act, ITAR and several data privacy laws.
Wall Builder is the most-adopted information barriers software product by law firms with 150 or more lawyers. According to an independent survey by the International Legal Technology Association (ILTA) of its membership, 72% of large firms using commercial software to enforce information barriers use IntApp Wall Builder. Today, law firms use Wall Builder to manage confidentiality controls for over 2 billion documents globally.
“Over the years, IntApp has made several enhancements to Wall Builder specifically engineered to address complexities in how Microsoft SharePoint stores, manages and secures information,” said Pat Archbold, head of IntApp's Risk Practice Group. “We’re pleased to apply the technology and experience we’ve developed by working with over 140 law firms to implement confidentiality management software, in support of Burr & Forman.”
IntApp provides software products and services that enable law firms to achieve competitive advantage by exceeding client compliance requirements, increasing revenue, and reducing operational costs. IntApp's three practice groups (Risk, Revenue and Integration) focus on understanding existing pressures and emerging trends, and translate this knowledge into products and best practices. IntApp products are the most-adopted in their respective categories - Wall Builder for ethical screens and client confidentiality management, Time Builder for time capture, and Integration Builder for application integration and master data management. IntApp serves over 250 customers, is endorsed by major software vendors across all categories, and has cultivated a vibrant partner community.
