Palumbo Wolfe & Palumbo co-founder Scott I. Palumbo has been bestowed with the honor of being included in the 2012 Southwest Rising Stars℠ list in Super Lawyers® magazine, an honor that recognizes top attorneys who are 40 years old or younger and who have been practicing law for no more than 10 years. Palumbo, who has also won various previous recognitions, works with plaintiffs on wrongful death, serious personal injury, medical malpractice and product liability cases.

The Rising Stars℠ list is highly exclusive, with only 2.5 percent of lawyers in each participating state being selected for inclusion, according to the Super Lawyers® website. The pool of list candidates is compiled after attorneys are asked to nominate those who they believe are the “best” attorneys who are age 40 or younger. The requirement is that the nominators must have personally observed the nominees’ professional work.

The nominees are evaluated by an attorney-led research team in various aspects of their profession using a points-based rating system. Factors such as a nominee’s firm size, practice area and geographic location come into play in the selection process. Research is done to ensure the nominees are properly licensed, have no history of disciplinary action and are in good standing with their state licensing agencies. In the end, the attorneys with the highest ratings who qualify are included on the published list.

Palumbo has been recognized over the years an attorney that stands out from others in his profession. He has received an AV® peer review rating by Martindale-Hubbell®, the system’s highest rating and one that reflects a high level of legal ability and ethical standards. The National Trial Lawyers has named Palumbo one of the “Top 100 Trial Attorneys” throughout Arizona every year since 2009. The association also named him on its “Top 40 Under 40” for 2012.

Another one of Palumbo’s accomplishments is becoming a member of the Multi-Million Dollar Advocates Forum, a group reserved for trial lawyers in the United States who have won verdicts and settlements amounting $2 million or more. One example of such a verdict that resulted from one of Palumbo’s cases is a $7 million jury verdict on behalf of a motorcyclist injured by a driver.

Palumbo received his law degree from the Arizona State University’s Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law and has since focused his career on victims in personal injury and wrongful death cases. He founded Palumbo Wolfe & Palumbo in 2006 with his father, Anthony J. Palumbo, and a close friend, Elliot G. Wolfe. He only had five years of experience in practicing personal injury law when they started the company.
