Last year the average British shopper admitted to throwing away almost 10% of food bought in their weekly shop and 8% regularly bin a quarter of their food. The survey, carried out by Sainsbury’s and WRAP the government’s waste adviser, consulted over 2000 adults, and 46% confessed they were unsure how to store food correctly.
