Tallahassee, Fla. (PRWEB) August 24, 2012
Gus Corbella, Director of the Governmental Affairs Practice of the Tallahassee office of international law firm Greenberg Traurig, has been reelected as chairman of the Florida Film and Entertainment Advisory Council (FFEAC) for a second term. He was recently reappointed to a second four-year term to the FFEAC by the Florida Senate and was reelected as its Chairman during the council’s quarterly meeting on August 22, 2012. Corbella was first elected as the council’s chairman in 2011 and previously served as its vice chair.
Since 1999, the FFEAC has served as the lead advisory body to the governor and legislature on film, television and other entertainment matters. Consisting of 17 members appointed by the Governor, President of the Senate and Speaker of the House of Representatives, the FFEAC provides industry insight and expertise to Florida’s Office of Film and Entertainment and the Division of Strategic Business Development within the newly created Department of Economic Opportunity.
“I am humbled by the support of my colleagues in re-electing me as their chairman,” said Corbella. “Florida has experienced incredible growth in attracting film, television, music and other entertainment-related productions in recent years, and I look forward to working with the council in continuing to lead efforts to fuel this momentum.”
Corbella’s practice at Greenberg Traurig focuses on legislative branch representation before the Florida Senate and Florida House of Representatives, as well as executive branch representation before the governor, cabinet and state agencies. Prior to joining Greenberg Traurig in 2004, Corbella served as chief of staff of the Florida Senate, as well as staff director for the majority offices of both the Florida Senate and House of Representatives. His role as chief advisor to the legislature's most prominent leaders provided him with broad knowledge of the process and issues before the Florida Legislature.
