After a long wait, an actor has finally been chosen for the role of Finnick Odair. And according to insidermovies.ew.com, Sam Claflin won it over the three other candidates. As a response, entertainment and sports new website GreenBeanBuddy.com asserted that his addition to the Hunger Game's cast raised the anticipation for the series second movie.

As related by the report, Lionsgate officially announced the inclusion of Claflin in the high-grossing film on Wednesday. The 24-year-old British actor, the report stated, had been the favorite among the candidates since the middle of July. However, according to a separate report from deadline.com, schedule created an initial problem to the actor's casting for the film hence the late announcement.

Reportedly, the three other actors who Claflin competed with for the role of the debonair Odair were Taylor Kitsch, Armie Hammer and Garrett Hedlund. But as the one chosen, he will be joining Philip Seymour Hoffman, Jena Malone, and Amanda Plummer as the major additions to the Hunger Games' casting.

The second installment of the said film Hunger Games: Catching Fire is set for release on November 22, 2013.

Below's an excerpt from the post Sam Claflin Chosen to Play Finnick Odair by GreenBeanBuddy.com.

“The official list of actors who will join the upcoming installment of Hunger Games is out. And if you are a Sam Claflin fan, here's a good news for you – he will officially play Finnick Odair.

The British actor who is famously known for his role as the missionary who fell in love with a mermaid in the Pirates of Caribbean: On Stranger's Tide was chosen to be Finnick over three other candidates. Those three who were also considered for the ex-champion role were Ben Walker, Boyd Holbrook and Tyler Hoechlin.”

According to entertainment and sports new website GreenBeanBuddy.com, as it was expected, the official addition of Claflin to Hunger Games evoked different reactions from fans and critics.

Additionally, it commented that his inclusion raised the anticipation for the series' second movie installment. That because the actor, it said, put up a great performance on his last two big films Pirates of Caribbean: On Stranger's Tide and Snow White and the Huntsman. More than that, it said that him being not yet popularly known increased the curiosity of the bestseller's fanatics.
