Digitalrep's easy-to-use, cloud-based application, together with its first class support offerings, makes it easy for distributors to complete their pricing submissions for retailers

Digitalrep LLC, the company that turns data into decisions, announced today that it has entered into an agreement with Heineken USA to provide automated distributor pricing aggregation and reporting with its internet portal. is a “one truck” solution for one of the largest warehouse club retailers – that is, it enables distributors to enter pricing for any brewer, winery, or liquor manufacturer that participates. Most automated pricing systems for two-tier distribution today do not offer the flexibility to handle multiple manufacturers.

“At Heineken USA, we rely on to collect and aggregate pricing from our distributors for one of the country’s most popular retailers,” said Andrew Boldy, National Channel Manager for Retail Sales at Heineken USA. “We have significantly reduced our workload and improved the accuracy of our pricing since we’ve been on board, and the support we get from Digitalrep is first class.”

Because most pricing systems for beer distributors are not capable of handling multiple manufacturers for one retailer, wholesalers are typically forced to have their employees learn and use various systems for a single retailer. As a result, the job of coordinating pricing has become a complex one, and errors do occur. Inaccuracies in pricing cause problems at every point in the supply chain. Deliveries may be delayed and profits lost when pricing isn’t on target. addresses these issues effectively.

“We are very pleased to count Heineken USA among our customers,” said John Meaney, President at Digitalrep. “We are continuing to add manufacturers to the portal, and we now have a total of four participating. Our objective is to bring any and all manufacturers into the fold. The more players that participate, the better off we all are, when it comes to pricing. It’s better for the distributor, because it’s easier to use and saves a lot of time. It’s better for the manufacturer, because it reduces labor costs and improves accuracy. And it’s better for the retailer, because it ensures optimized pricing on each item – and can help boost margins.”

In the absence of an effective, automated pricing system for distributors, many retailers employ spreadsheets, creating a template and emailing it back and forth among hundreds of wholesalers on a regular basis. Security can be a concern, and there’s a lot of room for human error, while the repetitive, manual processes are tedious for all involved. Interesting software programming challenges present themselves as well – some retailers don’t track items by UPC. This means the software must employ some other unique identifier for each item in order to manage data. is such an application. Digitalrep devised an ingenious solution that simplifies many tasks and injects efficiency into the entire process.

And there’s a lot more involved in two-tiered distribution pricing than the simple collection of periodic dollar figures. For example, most manufacturers want the flexibility to offer seasonal or one-time buy opportunities for special products – oriented toward various annual holidays. integrates communications between manufacturers and distributors, as well as the ability to collect pricing data for so called “In & Out” items. It also stores delivery schedules and shipment configurations on a location by location basis. The internet portal provides effective reporting capabilities that empower distributors and manufacturers to complete pricing submissions effectively.
