New Horizons Computer Learning Center of Dallas-Ft. Worth was named 2012 Mega-Market Center of the Year by New Horizons Worldwide, Inc. The award was presented at the company’s annual International Conference held recently at the Red Rock Resort in Las Vegas.

The Center of the Year awards recognize the leading franchises in the New Horizons network based on market size. Judging is based on results for the following criteria: market penetration (measured as days of training per population); revenue growth; total revenue (days of training); profit; and customer service scores.

New Horizons of Dallas-Ft. Worth, a part of Austin-based 5Point Enterprises, which owns and manages 17 New Horizons franchises through the Central U.S, was also recognized for instructor excellence. Kingsley Oparaeke and Eric Sham were honored as two of the Top 25 Desktop Applications instructors world-wide. New Horizons recognizes just 50 instructors each year, out of 2,300 in the world-wide network. Twenty-five instructors from two categories, Desktop and Technical Training, are awarded based on student satisfaction ratings.

“I am unbelievably proud of the performance of our Dallas-Ft. Worth centers,” said Derek Wright, CEO of 5Point Enterprises. “To be honored with several individual contributor awards plus a market award is a testament to the dedication, hard work, and professionalism of this team, and a huge accomplishment.”

In total, 5Point Enterprises-owned New Horizons had four Desktop Applications instructors and six Technical Instructors win awards. Five account executives were also recognized for sales performance, including Bill Becker of Dallas. In addition, New Horizons of Austin received recognition as a Five Star Center of Excellence.

“I am impressed and proud of the efforts and success of our organization this year,” said Wright. “These awards speak to the quality of our training delivery and consistency in customer service, which are the two things at the core of our business. I couldn’t be happier with our results and I’m extremely proud of the entire 5Point team!”
