... a leader ... encouraged me to use any fame I might have towards drawing attention to a good cause, and I do that by volunteering.

When Savannah Stehlin, an Oaks Christian Online School Junior and student actor, is not in front of the camera, she volunteers at several youth organizations. Her latest volunteer position is with ELEV8-X which uses school assemblies, pop culture education for adults, and middle school presentations to help teens avoid risky behaviors. Savannah is currently a speaker and performer in Southern California school events. She also volunteers as a teacher’s assistant at acting workshops for 7-12 year olds, helps with an organization called Assisteens with the La Canada Assistance League, and is the worship leader for middle and high school youth groups at her church. While Savannah recognizes that the attention from acting can be overwhelming at times, family members and mentors have shown her the great opportunity to be an example to her peers. When asked why she enjoys community service so much, Savannah said, “a leader of one of the organizations I was working with encouraged me to use any fame I might have towards drawing attention to a good cause, and I do that by volunteering.”

Savannah began her acting career at the young age of 2 years old in the nationally televised Fort Lauderdale Christmas Pageant and has been on several television shows such as Gilmore Girls, Cold Case, ER, According to Jim, and Hannah Montana to name a few. She has also had roles in films such as The Family Stone and her most recent endeavor, Spork, where she played the lead character.

While pursuing her acting career is a top priority, Savannah has a great passion for furthering her education as well. She feels that Oaks Christian Online School is the perfect school for her demanding lifestyle. As she puts it, “I had heard of the rigorous academics at Oaks, and when I saw that it was a Christian school, I knew that I had found a good fit.”

The main campus of Oaks Christian School in Westlake Village, CA opened in the fall of 2000 and Oaks Christian Online School (OCO) opened for full-time, online students in the fall of 2011. The online school provides a rigorous and challenging college preparatory education for high school students all across the country in a Christian environment. Oaks Christian Online School continues to enroll part-time and full-time students throughout the school year and regularly hosts information sessions on its main campus – 31749 La Tienda Drive, Westlake Village, CA 91362, as well as virtual information sessions for prospective student families.
