Avenue Code is so grateful for the opportunity to partner with the school.

Avenue Code, an IT consulting firm specializing in agile software development methodologies, recently established a partnership with PUC Minas, a premiere educational institution in Brazil. This partnership establishes a scholarship fund for students studying software development at the school, as well as research projects, and a dedicated lab.
PUC Minas is a noted college in the region of Belo Horizonte, Brazil. It is one of the largest private, non-profit institutions in Brazil, and it has been awarded as the best private Brazilian university in 2006 and 2010. Avenue Code will donate funds to help PUC Minas create an educational lab in Avenue Code’s name. The money will also sponsor graduate and undergraduate students’ tuition. According to Amir Razmara, an Avenue Code managing partner, “Avenue Code is so grateful for the opportunity to partner with the school. In the past PUC Minas has been able to educate world renowned technology talent. We felt that helping to support PUC Minas was the least we could contribute.” While the school is particularly known for its graduates’ ability to integrate into the working world, Avenue Code’s presence on the campus will help further this objective. The goal of Avenue Code development Lab will be to expose PUC Minas students to real world agile software development beyond the world of academia.
The Belo Horizonte metropolitan area, home of PUC Minas, is well known as a technology hub. However, Agile methodologies are relatively new concepts in the region. Establishing Avenue Code, a company specializing in this framework, on the PUC Minas campus will not only benefit the university, but Belo Horizonte as well. The company’s close integration within the academic community will allow for the agile teachings to spread to the rest of the region’s IT community.
Agile offers greater ROI than the traditional approach, because it allows for continuous delivery of projects on a regularly scheduled basis. This gives project sponsors the opportunity to course-correct during development, and realize value earlier in the software development life cycle.
