The Law Firm of Crary Buchanan will honor the people who died in 9-11 with blood drive in Stuart, Florida on September 8th and 9th. This is the third year that the blood drive has been used to remember those who died. In cooperation with Florida’s Blood Centers, Crary Buchanan hopes to increase donations to a level that will help save more lives than were lost in the September 11th terrorist attacks more than ten years ago. The blood drive will take place at the firm’s office at 759 S. Federal Highway in Stuart, FL.
In his lifetime, Mike Crary has donated almost 7 gallons of blood. Today, he is the chairman of the drive. Since the first drive three years ago, Mr. Crary and other members of the firm and volunteers have donated more than 800 units of blood, with each unit capable of saving three lives. This means that the drive could easily reach its goal this year – to save more than 2,976 lives. “More than a decade has passed since the 9-11 attacks, but we remember that tragedy as if it were yesterday,” said Mr. Crary, “We dedicated ourselves to those who died by giving the gift of life through a blood donation.” All of the blood donated at the drive will help people in Martin County.
Individuals receiving chemotherapy treatment in the area will benefit from the drive, along with accident victims and those undergoing emergency surgery. The drive will accept donations on September 8th from 9 a.m. and on September 9th from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. Until this point the drive has contributed to saving more than 2,400 lives. All participants will be entered in a raffle for a flat-screen TV donated by The Experts. The drive is also being sponsored by Crary Buchanan, Seacoast National Bank and TentLogix.
