“Keeping an open mind allowed me to be receptive to new ideas that helped formulate the concepts presented in ‘Leap of Faith.’”
SPARKS, Nev. (PRWEB) August 27, 2012
It is not often patients hear medical doctors speak of spirituality. Yet, for Jeffrey D. Millman, M.D., the research between the connection between mind, body and spirit is undeniable. Announcing his new book “Leap of Faith: Transforming Physical and Emotional Pain into Spiritual Growth” (published by Balboa Press), Millman distills years of research, insight and personal experience into a guidebook that leads readers to better health and greater spiritual gains.
“Seeing so much pain, physical and emotional, in my practice of family medicine, I sought the meaning behind human suffering,” reveals Millman. “I then began to share this information and these insights with my patients. Now my book will allow me to extend this to the general population.”
In “Leap of Faith,” Millman illustrates how pain serves as a springboard for personal and spiritual growth. “Rather than being overwhelmed or fearful about life’s challenges,” notes Millman, “we can use our intuitive mind’s sixth sense to connect with our Higher self, receiving inner guidance as we cope with illness, aging, emotional upheavals and death.”
Millman also takes the unique position of presenting new age information from both a scientific and metaphysical perspective, combining the authenticity of the logical mind with the sensitivity of intuitive knowing.
Using actual case histories accumulated over 40 years of practicing family medicine, Millman discusses many different illnesses and emotional issues and the specific lessons each one presents. He uses his holistic and spiritual approach to healing to make sense of the death of our physical body and the transition of our spirit to the other side.
In this one book, Millman has yoked two seemingly polar audiences – the practical-minded fans of Dr. Oz’s “You: The Owner’s Manual” and the spirit-guided fans of Louise L. Hay’s “Heal Your Body.” It is a coming together that Millman views as long overdue.
“I realized as a young medical doctor the importance of looking at illness from a holistic perspective, that I may appreciate the power of the mind and the spirit to influence our health and wellbeing,” he explains. “Keeping an open mind allowed me to be receptive to new ideas that helped formulate the concepts presented in ‘Leap of Faith.’”
