Summer officially comes to a close over Labor Day weekend, and in Danville that means the New York State Festival of Balloons, More than 50 balloons will provide a visual wonderland during six scheduled flights between August 31 and September 3. At 7 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 30, the festival kicks off with the annual “Glow” at Brae Burn. Balloons will inflate at dusk.
The Glow is free and open to the public, and will include about a half-dozen balloons inflated like luminaries on the ground. Visitors are welcome to get an up-close view of the balloons and meet the pilots at that time.
