Dr. Nancy Elwartowski-Cooper DC DICCP, traveled to Palmer Chiropractic College on August 9, 2012 to attend a ceremony recognizing her family as a Historic Chiropractic Family. A designation limited to families who have had 15 or more family members become Doctors of Chiropractic (D.C.). The Elwart/Elwartowski family is the 7th family to receive this honor and will be entered into the Family Legacy Book in the Archives of Chiropractic History at Palmer Chiropractic College.
Dr. Nancy Elwartowski-Cooper is the daughter of Dr. Walter Elwartowski one of the founders of the family’s legacy in chiropractic.
“My father was inspired to become a DC after his brother Ray was cured of severe narcolepsy by a chiropractor and during his career inspired over 50 people to also become chiropractors.” Said Dr. Elwartowski-Cooper “Our family has dedicated their lives to the health and wellness of our patients and it is honor to be recognized for that commitment.”
Dr. Elwartowski-Cooper is the owner of Chiropractic Wellness Center of Indiana, Carmel, IN and a board certified Pediatric and Prenatal Chiropractor. She is currently drafting a study on her family’s chiropractic legacy including her cousin, Dr. Linda Elwart Atkinson’s work as the first licensed non-Chinese chiropractor in Mainland China. Dr. Elwartowski-Cooper will present the study to the Chiropractic Historical Society meeting in Greeley, Colorado in July of 2013.
