Dorothy Leigh completes her first casting in a major principal role in the New Musical production of “Dream Babies,” written and directed by Van Dirk Fisher, at the Riant Theatre in New York City. Dream Babies opened on August 10 - August 26, 2012. With the last of the musical performances almost behind her, what’s next for the Pre-Grammy Nominated Singer/Recording Artist of the debut CD “A Second Chance?”
“I loved the experience of perfecting my art as an actor and singer, and working with the director, choreographer and musical director. I am currently aggressively pursuing future opportunities in this area. As of Monday, August 27, following my last performance of Dream Babies, I will be hard at work on my third CD “Different Shades of Jazz.” After the completion of my first music video “Whenever We Touch,” I am already preparing to start work on my second music video “Don’t Call Me A Fool.””
Dream Babies is a powerful musical about the teenagers of St. Mary's Home for Girls & St. John's Home for Boys, who share their joys and growing pains while attending Royal Academy, a Charter School in Brooklyn, NY. Dream Babies is a testimony to the faith and determination of these teenagers to make it in life against all odds with the loving support of their teachers, counselors and friends.
