Pleio released data today which demonstrates that the Pleio GoodStart® patient support program boosts medication adherence and pharmacy loyalty. Prescription data reveals that Pleio’s 100-day protocol of live phone discussions with pharmacy personnel, and customized daily health tips by text message, IVR and e-mail, improves Rx consumption. Patients 40 to 60 years of age refilled an average of 52 more pills during their first 450 days on a once-a-day pill. In a recent survey, 95% of GoodStart participants of all ages said the program made them more likely to recommend their pharmacy to a friend. The data was released at the National Association of Chain Drug Stores conference in Denver.

Prescription data was collected daily for 18 months from over 20 pharmacy chains who use Pleio GoodStart, and analyzed using Pleio Tandem™ Analytics. The prescription data from 23,783 patients included a similar patient control group who were not reached to participate in the Pleio GoodStart program. The results are considered very highly significant (P<.001).

In a live phone survey of 320 patients who recently participated in the GoodStart program, it was learned that 45% of patients had already told a friend, family member or healthcare provider about the program, 79% of patients felt the GoodStart program helped them feel better about their medication, and 95% said they would be more likely to recommend their pharmacy to a friend as a result of the GoodStart Program.
