Metmanage is a Washington D.C. area consulting firm with executive level expertise in event management and security matters for conferences, events and trade shows. Staffing services include registration staff support, door monitors, badge checkers and bag stuffers. We also provide licensed security guards to watch exhibit halls, registration areas, cyber cafe and any other areas that need protection. Services are provided to meeting professionals across North America.

Metropolitan Management Conference Services (Metmanage) a Washington DC area meetings management firm will be in New Orleans next week to support the American Political Science Association’s 108th Annual Meeting. The meeting will take place Wednesday August 29th through Friday August 31st at the New Orleans Marriott, 555 Canal Street. Metmanage will provide direct registration support for the meeting. Instead of flying in clerks from out of state Metmanage will hire local New Orleans residents with hospitality experience.

A Metmanage advance team will arrive on Sunday 26th for setup. Interviews, hiring and training will take place on Monday 27th and Tuesday 28th in New Orleans. Over 100 resumes of local talent have been collected for these interviews. They range from students to longtime hospitality professionals. The meeting contract calls for over 200 hours of employment for registration typists and badge checkers.

Metmanage presently has a footprint in the Washington D.C. and Baltimore Maryland metro areas. A planned expansion to New Orleans is expected in take place in 2013. In the past Metmanage has supported conferences by teaming with local companies. With growth has come the need to establish a New Orleans office. In 2010 plans were in place however the downturn in the economy slowed expansion plans.

Metmanage provided housing support for the US Coast Guard post Katrina via a federal contract. What started as a job became something more for Metmanage’s Operations Director Leslie Warrick CMP as she summed up her “Big Easy” experience. “We fell in love with the city and enjoy every opportunity to visit”. Ms. Warrick has visited New Orleans many times as a meetings planner and tourist. However the opening of Metmanage in 2008 has placed a different perspective on her adopted New Orleans.
