The Burlington County personal injury attorneys at Console & Hollawell have filed a lawsuit against Target Corporation following an alleged slip-and-fall accident at one of their locations in Delran, New Jersey. The incident occurred on October 16, 2010 when Madelina Rezende was visiting the store’s pharmacy to pick up a prescription, according to the complaint filed in the Superior Court of New Jersey.
After Rezende received her prescriptions, she was on her way to the exit of the store. She walked down the cosmetics aisle and when she went to turn onto the main aisle, she slipped on a clear substance on the floor and fell directly on her back sustaining serious injuries, according to court documents. The complaint alleges that the failure of Target Corporation to rectify the danger or to provide ample warning that the hazard existed makes them liable for her injuries.
The complaint alleged that, “Defendant was negligent in that it: Did not keep the premises in a safe condition; did not exercise proper care; caused a dangerous condition to exist; allowed a nuisance to exist; failed to provide proper, safe and clear access for persons allowed upon and invited to use the property; failed to keep the property free and clear of any and all liquid substances; and was otherwise negligent in the maintenance of the premises.”
As a result of the fall, Rezende sustained multiple bulging discs at the L3-4, L4-5, and L5-S1 levels that required surgical intervention according to court documents. She chose to contact the New Jersey slip-and-fall lawyers at Console & Hollawell to represent her in her claim to recover deserved compensation.
