The Inaugural Berkshires Art Festival Lenox to benefit Shakespeare & Company programs and services will be held September 28-30. Considered the most important event in the Berkshires this fall, more than 6,000 art lovers from the U.S., Canada and Europe are expected to descend on the Berkshires community for the event, and many are already booking vacation rentals near the venue through NYVacationRentals.com.
Seventy-two artists from across the U.S. will be displaying works in categories including ceramics, furniture, glass, jewelry, leather, metal, mixed media, painting, photography, sculpture, wood, decorative and wearable fiber, and others.
The Berkshires is comprised of 30 unique towns and two cities bordering Vermont to the north, New York to the west and Connecticut to the south. The Berkshires is located between New York City and Boston.
The 2.5 million visitors who travel to the Berkshires each year are attracted to the area’s many cultural and historic venues that include some of America’s most important treasures. Visitors enjoy Berkshires accommodations with spectacular scenery and easy access to local attractions.
More travelers to the Berkshires are looking for hotel-free options when it comes to their vacation lodgings. Return visitors book a private Berkshires vacation rental whether they’re staying for one night, a weekend, or a week. Not only do these savvy repeat visitors prefer the privacy of a vacation home or condo over a hotel, the home-away-from-home amenities like a full kitchen and laundry room make vacationing that much more enjoyable.
The Berkshires Art Festival Lenox will benefit Shakespeare & Co., a year-round theatrical company that schedules hundreds of performances on two stages, scores of workshops, multiple lectures and demonstrations, and thousands of classes for professional and aspiring actors, teachers, and directors ranging in age from 8 to 80.
Their touring productions and training workshops also travel the country, but the bulk of the programming occurs at their 30-acre campus located in the historic district of Lenox - a five-minute walk into town (with more than 50 inns, art galleries, restaurants, retail shops, and historic sites and hikes).
