Perkins is a highly respected expert in fundraising circles. Most recently she served as vice president of development with The New England Aquarium in Boston, Mass., responsible for setting the vision, goals, and strategies for raising approximately $10 million in operating funds and $8 million in capital funds annually. As founder of strategic fundraising consulting firm Perkins Associates in Washington, D.C., Perkins brought her experience of over 30 years to nonprofit clients in the fundraising areas of campaign planning, executive leadership and team building, major gifts, and board development. Clients included The Metropolitan Opera, Tevereterno, Rome, Italy, The Châteauville Foundation of New York and Virginia, and The American Symphony Orchestra League.
Previously Perkins was vice president of resources development for the National Trust for Historic Preservation in Washington, D.C., the country’s largest private, nonprofit membership organization, dedicated to preserving America’s diverse historic places and revitalizing communities. Perkins also has held senior development officer positions with The Brookings Institution in Washington, D.C., as well as the Boston Symphony Orchestra (BSO), the New England Conservatory, and the Massachusetts Council on the Arts & Humanities, all in Boston, Mass.
