We are very proud that IES TaP for BREEAM has been recognised as an official tool for BREEAM by gaining the Badge of Recognition.

Integrated Environmental Solutions (IES), a provider of integrated performance analysis software and consulting services for sustainable building design and operation, today announced that BRE Global has awarded IES TaP the 'BREEAM Badge of Recognition'. It recognises the tool’s innovative ability to streamline the BREEAM Assessment process for the design team and ability to submit assessments directly from the system to the BRE for QA and Certification. The badge is used as a symbol that demonstrates formal approval by BRE Global that the software is compatible with the BREEAM QA systems.

IES is the only company to have both its project management system (IES TaP) and performance analysis tool (VE-Navigator for BREEAM) awarded with the BREEAM Badge of Recognition.

IES TaP is an online project tracking tool for BREEAM and Code for Sustainable Homes Assessments (CSH). Uniting the world leading expertise and advanced technology of IES Ltd with the pioneering TaP tool from Track a Project Ltd, the tool is an intelligent online project tracking solution designed by BREEAM assessors for the benefit of the entire project team.

The IES VE-Navigator is a unique automated assessment tool for the performance calculations required by BREEAM. It automatically matches BREEAM threshold and test requirements for Health & Wellbeing, Energy, Water and Materials credits. Plus, the Navigator checks results from all allowed approaches so users are sure they have achieved the maximum credits possible. The tool is integrated with the IESVE performance analysis suite and uses the same 3D model, plus reports can be uploaded directly to IES TaP.

Assessors can use IES TaP to access and track all of their projects online in one place, reducing the time required to deliver BREEAM and CSH compliance, enabling them to take on more projects. This streamlined process saves both the assessors and the whole project team significant time and money.

A host of new features have recently been added to the tool. These include:

Full integration into the BRE QA process

Assessors can submit their projects for QA, receive QA feedback and download their certificate all from within TaP

No separate report required for QA

BREEAM 2008 final reports are generated & uploaded automatically in a format required by BRE

BREEAM 2011 - no report writing necessary, just evidence referencing

No need to supply the evidence documents to the BRE via CD or uploading to the BRE

BRE QA can access all approved and referenced documents directly from a submitted report

Dedicated area for storing calculator tools

IES have also recently added a new Pre-Assessment pricing structure to the tool. This gives users thirty days access to complete the pre-assessment for a one off cost of twenty five pounds. After 30 days the pre-assessment can still be viewed but it will be read only. When the project moves to design stage and the tracking progress needs to begin, the pre-assessment can be upgraded to IES TaP for BREEAM. This option is available to buy online at

“We are very proud that IES TaP for BREEAM has been recognised as an official tool for BREEAM by gaining the Badge of Recognition, says Don McLean, Founder and Managing Director, IES. “We developed the tool alongside Track a Project Ltd so that companies can competitively deliver Building Regulation and Green Rating System services. Driving the creation of more energy efficient buildings, while at the same time delivering technical excellence and saving our users time and money, is core to IES.”
