PHS Recordsmanagement acquires a Manchester facility to complete comprehensive UK coverage, enabling easier access for clients in the North of England and reducing mileage for delivery and collection.

It’s all coming together nicely for PHS Recordsmanagement as it recently completed the acquisition of a facility in Manchester. This latest piece in the jigsaw gives the document storage and management company full UK coverage and offers customers in the North of England an even better, more efficient service.

The acquired business, Safe Records Management Ltd, has spent more than 20 years building its reputation as a quality provider of secure media storage and for documents as well. Many blue chip businesses in the North West, Yorkshire and North Wales confidently use its facility in Middleton, Manchester.

With the nearest PHS Recordsmanagement facilities located in Birmingham and East Kilbride, this new site in the North of England means that customers in the proximity can have documents and files collected and retrieved at a faster rate. The use of fewer vehicle miles will reduce transport costs and contribute towards PHS Recordsmanagement’s environmental policy. On-site document scanning services means that clients can also help to reduce road pollution by recalling and accessing documents electronically through a bespoke online access system, Pinpoint.

Ted Reynolds, National Sales Manager for PHS Recordsmanagement explained the reasoning behind the acquisition, saying, “Safe Records Management Ltd has been successful in gaining a great foothold in the onsite and offsite document storage market with businesses located on and around the M62 corridor. The premises and service is of the same high standard that PHS Recordsmanagement clients have come to expect,” Ted continued, “but now they have the additional advantage of a truly national service.

“There is so much more capacity and capability at the Middleton site that our business in the North of England can only go from strength to strength.”

The new document storage facility occupies an old mill which has been fitted with the same high security and monitoring systems found at all PHS Recordsmanagement sites. Recycling this old building and putting it to good use is another feather in PHS Recordsmanagement’s environmental cap.

As a genuine records management company, PHS Recordsmanagement can advise on the legal requirements of document retention, ensuring that nothing is stored longer than needed or at unnecessary cost to the client. Non-critical files can be securely shredded on request and, where appropriate, recycled to further reduce the impact on the environment.

This latest acquisition is by no means the end of PHS Recordsmanagement’s expansion programme which will continue as new services are developed to meet customers’ requirements.
