Improv Electronics announced today Evernote® has added the Boogie Board Rip LCD eWriter to the Evernote Trunk. The Boogie Board Rip Virtual Desktop Companion (VDC) 2.0 software upgrade, which was featured at last week’s second annual Evernote Trunk Conference in San Francisco, offers the ability to seamlessly sync all written and drawn images saved on a Boogie Board Rip LCD eWriter with Evernote.
Evernote is a multi-platform software application that allows users to ‘remember everything’, like typewritten text, handwritten notes, photos, drawings, and web site clips which can be organized by topic in user-defined notebooks and stored in the Evernote cloud. The Evernote Trunk is a compilation of third-party software, mobile apps, and hardware devices recommended by Evernote to expand and enhance the Evernote user experience.
Boogie Board VDC 2.0 software is now shipping with all Boogie Board Rip LCD eWriters. Current Boogie Board Rip eWriter users can download complimentary Boogie Board VDC 2.0 software from improvelectronics.com.
Boogie Board VDC 2.0 software, which also includes a new Virtual Whiteboard Mode, received an enthusiastic response from consumer electronics media, retailers and distributors when it was unveiled at the CEA Line Show in June. Members of the education industry also reacted positively when VDC 2.0 software was unveiled to them the same week at the ISTE (International Society for Technology in Education) 2012 Conference and Exhibition.
Boogie Board VDC 2.0 software allows Boogie Board Rip LCD eWriter users to effortlessly import saved files into new or existing Evernote notebooks. Files can be named and tagged upon import for easy sorting and searching. Content within handwritten notes can also be searched within Evernote. All Boogie Board Rip images imported into Evernote through a PC are viewable on any device loaded with the Evernote app (e.g., smartphones and Internet tablets).
“We are delighted Evernote recognized the benefits of the Boogie Board Rip eWriter by including it in the Evernote Trunk,” said Improv Electronics Marketing Director Billy Chapnick. “Evernote use is growing rapidly around the world and inclusion in the Evernote Trunk will help global consumers recognize the many benefits of Boogie Board Rip LCD eWriters, too. We look forward to working more with Evernote in the future to expand our integration with the Evernote platform and give its users increasingly robust writing and drawing capabilities.”
Another notable new feature of Boogie Board VDC 2.0 software is the Virtual Whiteboard Mode. When the Boogie Board Rip LCD eWriter is connected to a PC, Virtual Whiteboard Mode displays the Boogie Board Rip LCD eWriter’s writing surface full screen on a monitor or projector in real-time. This feature is great for sharing information with a group during meetings and classroom instruction. The written or drawn image appears black on a white background, and images viewed in Virtual Whiteboard Mode can be saved directly to the host PC or e-mailed with the click of a button.
Virtual Desktop Companion 2.0 software is compatible with Windows operating systems.
