The recent news that the cast of ABC's 'Modern Family' have filed suit against the show's producer, 20th Century Fox over a pay dispute could mean the end for one of TV's most popular characters - Cameron Scott Tucker. Eric Stonestreet, who plays the lovable Tucker is amongst several other big names from the show embroiled in a pay dispute over their contracts. Our Family Fun Night ran an article about the show which talks about the issues. Many worried fans are concerned that the lawsuit filed to void their contracts could spell the end for Modern family.

It would appear that the producers of ABC's 'Modern Family' have a fight on their hands - from the actors who have helped to make the show one of the most popular on TV. A recent report in the Los Angeles Times states that stars Julie Bowen, Ty Burrell, Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Sofia Vergara and Eric Stonestreet who plays the lovable Cameron Scott Tucker have filed a lawsuit against the producers of the show - 20th Century Fox in order to have their contracts voided.

The news of the lawsuit has cast serious doubts about the future of the show. Our Family Fun said that it appears that the stars of the show appear to want a bigger slice of the profits, something that isn't unusual in the world of television. Although reports suggest the actors on the show are already compensated handsomely the runaway success of the show, most notably the large sums of cash 20th Century Fox are receiving for re-runs has prompted the contract dispute. According to Joe Flint's LA Times article, 20th Century Fox have already sold re-runs of Modern Family to the cable channel 'USA' for $1.5 million per episode.

Flint's article goes on to quote Tony Jonas, the producer and former executive at Warner Bros. who was involved with the high profile contract negotiations of 'Friends' and 'ER' who is quoted as saying "I do not remember lawsuits springing from these situations." Flint's article also carries a quote from Sandy Grushow, a former 20th Century Fox boss and current chief content officer from MediaLink who stated that "It's a pretty natural instinct among actors who see the money flowing in to the network and the studio to want their share." Fans of 'Modern Family' will no doubt be hoping the dispute is resolved sooner rather than later, if at all.
