The Inn at Middleton Place was recognized for its outstanding concept and design by the American Institute for Architecture with its prestigious Honor Award, the profession’s highest accolade for individual buildings by American architects.

The Inn at Middleton Place celebrated its 25th anniversary in June. In celebration of this milestone, The Inn at Middleton Place will be giving away special gifts to guests staying at the Inn on the 25th of each month until June 2013.

The Inn at Middleton Place was designed and executed by W.G. Clark and Charles Menefee of Charleston and opened in 1987. The Inn was designed to incorporate the natural beauty of its surrounding landscape. Clark was the lead architect and designed the modern buildings around 100-year live oaks, Spanish moss and other flora found along the banks of the Ashley River. The 55 rooms of the Inn are minimally designed so that visitors will feel that they are staying at a quaint mountain cabin rather than a modern hotel. After its opening, The Inn at Middleton Place was recognized for its outstanding concept and design by the American Institute for Architecture with its prestigious Honor Award, the profession’s highest accolade for individual buildings by American architects. Today, The Inn at Middleton Place is considered one of Charleston’s most unique hotels and is popular for many guests looking for a romantic getaway.

The Inn at Middleton is located in Charleston, SC next to the historic Middleton Place. The Middleton Place is a National Historic Landmark and home to America’s Oldest Landscaped Gardens. The gardens at the Middleton Place are beautifully landscaped and the Middleton Place House Museum dates back to 1755 and has an incredible collection of historic artifacts from the Middleton Family. Admission to the Middleton Place is included with each stay at the Inn at Middleton.
