Irvine, CA (PRWEB) August 29, 2012
Jackson and Associates, Inc., a provider of California legal services and national legal process management to the mortgage industry, announced that Donna L. La Porte has joined the firm as Senior Litigation Counsel.
An “AV” rated attorney by Martindale-Hubbell, La Porte has nearly 30 years of experience in representing financial institutions, mortgage bankers, and servicers in all aspects of commercial, multifamily, and residential real estate. As Senior Litigation Counsel, Donna is responsible for leading the firm’s practice group for complex commercial, multifamily, and residential real estate litigation.
“We are pleased to have Donna come aboard, as our traditional unlawful detainer practice has widened due to the litigation fallout associated with the mortgage crisis,” said Robert J. Jackson, President and Senior Managing Attorney. “She helps our firm better serve the needs of our clients, who are facing an increased scope of litigation when it comes to their distressed real estate assets.”
A member of both the California bar and Utah bar, La Porte earned her law degree from the University of Utah’s School of Law, and completed her undergraduate studies magna cum laude at the University of Utah. She is a past President of the Southern California Mortgage Banking Association, and has served in leadership positions on various other professional organizations, including REOMAC and the American Legal and Financial Network.
