Sheraton Roanoke's Hotel Restaurant First In Series About Local Winemakers Starts September 5th 2012

Shula’s 347 Grill is named for Coach Don Shula, the most winningest NFL coach of all time. Shula's 347 Grill is located in the Sheraton Roanoke Hotel & Conference Center and is hosting a Virginia Wine reception and dinner on September 5th. This meeting will be the first in the 'Meet the Winemaker' series. There will be 4 courses, and each course matched with a wine from Barboursville Vineyards which is locally owned and operated in Barboursville, Virginia. The reception begins at 6:30 pm, dinner will be served at 7:00 pm.

Luca Paschina, Winemaker and General Manager of Barboursville Vineyards produced his first wine at the age of 14. A 2nd-generation graduate of Italy’s viticultural Harvard, Istituto Umberto I, Luca worked in Napa Valley, the Finger Lakes, and Switzerland, before joining his father Armando and uncle Francesco fulltime in winegrowing in Piemonte. A cursory tally of Luca’s accomplishments - for wine, for this place, and for this region - required, then, an almost illegible compression of fonts on our news page in its recital of Gold Medals, Governor’s Cups, Monticello Cups, and introductions of new wines of national prominence - Barboursville Brut, Phileo, Malvaxia, and Octagon.

We are pleased to team up with Barboursville Vineyards to host this event. The event will be for 30 people, all of those whom RSVP with the proper paperwork to Katie Camper by September 1, 2012.

Please find all of the event information including the menu on the following webpage: If you would like to learn more, please email Katie Camper - katie(dot)porter(at)sheratonroanoke(dot)com or contact her by phone 540.561.7926.
