In this pivotal election year, Americans have more issues than ever to consider when heading to the polls. Here to help voters make sense of the plethora of issues facing them comes Howard Bobb’s provocative new nonfiction, “What's Wrong with US, U.S., U.$?” (published by AuthorHouse).
“Like everyone else who tries to write a book about something, I feel that I have a message to send out to anyone who would read my words,” Bobb writes. “It is my hope that my words might lead people to look at events and what we have become as Americans in a different way. Perhaps I can lead leaders to recognize the values of our forefathers and try to bring those values back into our 21st century life.”
Rather than simply outline the problems facing America today, “What's Wrong with US, U.S., U.$?” brings them up to promote discussion and provoke change. Bobb is quick to point out that there is a solution, and that it “lies in the grasp of the populace.”
Short, concise chapters are jam-packed with a mixture of statistics, analysis and commentary on a variety of subjects including racism, race relations, education, the environment and the latest economic crisis. Finally, a concluding chapter, titled “What’s Right With US, U.S.,” takes the opportunity to give credit to America’s strong points and the resilience of its people.
“We don’t ponder anymore,” Bobb writes. “There is no time. We have our day mapped out on the BlackBerry and we cannot deviate or the whole schedule will go to hell in a hand basket. We need to ponder.”
