Author Lisa Pelton captures the value of obedience through her lovable Golden Retriever, Logos, in her book “Logos and Obedience: Listening to His Father's Voice” (published by AuthorHouse). Children easily relate to Logos as he learns the importance of obedience through this adventure of temptation as Logos has to choose whether to obey or disobey his Father.

Logos, an energetic Golden Retriever, is getting a lesson on obedience. His father is trying to teach him why it is important to obey. But, will Logos comply with his father’s commands or be tempted by Lu C. Furr, the mysterious big black dog, to cross over into unprotected territory?

“This book has been written in such a way that a child can relate to the characters and content, but also the adult reader will be challenged,” Pelton says. “The story not only teaches the importance of obedience but also teaches the deeper lessons of obedience to God, and that there is a real temptation when we think the ‘grass is greener on the other side.’”

Logos is a lovable, playful character, and represents the heart of a child because he thinks like a child. The story is full of intrigue and excitement. Children are drawn into the story, because they want to know what choice Logos will make.
