“The option to sell your domain gives customers the chance to make money on domains they no longer want, rather than just wait for it to run down and expire”
(PRWEB UK) 30 August 2012
UK web hosting company Heart Internet (http://www.heartinternet.co.uk) have announced they are extending their domain name services product range by launching a new product which allows customers to sell their domains directly through their domain name control panel.
Alongside the existing domain registration services, customers will now be able to make money on the domains they own by selling them through a global domain name marketplace.
With over 100 million .com domains registered worldwide, people are exploring other ways to get the domains they want including buying domains at a premium rate. Prices for domains have subsequently increased on the secondary domain name marketplace, with some of the most sought after domains changing hands for record fees. Famous examples include diamond.com, which sold for $7.5 million, fund.com which went for nearly $10 million, and sex.com which sold for $13 million.
With the new feature, customers can put their domain name up for sale through their control panel, allowing potential buyers to see that the domain is available to purchase when it appears in their search results. The system will then give an option to buy the domain name at a price set by the domain owner.
“The option to sell your domain gives customers the chance to make money on domains they no longer want, rather than just wait for it to run down and expire”, said Heart Internet director Jonathan Brealey. “Lots more people are prepared to buy domains at a higher rate in order to secure the ideal name for their website, this feature allows our customers to take advantage of that demand.”
