Enthusiastic car lovers came out to peruse an array of vehicles at the annual car show held by Automotive Training Centre.
The show took place on Saturday, August 11, 2012 at Automotive Training Centre’s Surrey, B.C. location. Aiming to turn the car show into more of a community event, Automotive Training Centre invited both students and the general public to attend the event free of charge.
To the delight of all the spectators, the show featured modified cars, vintage classics and hot rods. There was also a live airbrush demonstration done by Chris Bennet, a graduate of Automotive Training Centre, who showed his skills on the hood of one of the participant’s 1998 Firebird.
Among those who registered and showcased their cars, three were chosen as having the best of the bunch. The winners of the car show were:
- Best of Show: Paul Gill with his 1930 Ford
- 2nd place: Thomas Ogden with his 1923 Ford Coupe
- 3rd place: Al Le Beau with his 1957 Chevrolet
There was also one other winner of the day, but his glory was non-car related. Nine year old Altamish Ali’s name was randomly chosen during a draw for a brand new iPad 3.
Overall, the event was a success, and encouraged locals to gather under the sun to not only admire rare and eccentric cars, but also to encourage their current and former students to showcase their practiced skills. By offering a wide variety of automotive programs, including Automotive Detailing, Automotive Service Technician, and Dispatching and Transportation Operations, Automotive Training Centre in Surrey is one of Canada’s leading auto-career training schools.
Missed the event? Don’t worry, ATC is already planning next year’s car show. Mark your calendars!
