The VCI-Group announced today that industry analysts from Wainhouse Research, LLC, TeleSpan Publishing Corporation, J D Vaughn Consulting, along with executives from AVI-SPL and Polycom, Inc. will address the state of the visual communications industry at the VCI-Group event in Monterey California, October 22-24th. They will focus on the extraordinary and fractionalized growth of the videoconferencing industry along with the surge and impact of videoconferencing equipped mobile devices. Additionally, they will examine the influx of new software based codecs and cloud service vendors entering the market and exploring videoconferencing security, and the phenomenon of users bringing their own devices into multipoint calls, called BYOD.
Toni Alonso, VCI-Group Director, who will be moderating the session at the VCI-Group Annual Conference said, “Our user members need to be able to anticipate changes in the technology, networks and vendors. Their organizations expect them to be up to date and capable of facing new paradigms and technology. It is our job at VCI-Group to help our user members stay informed, prepared and equipped to deal with a dynamic future.”
“Who can better tell us what is happening in the industry,” she continued, “what's hot and what’s not, than the analysts in the middle of it all? And it will be interesting to see if our industry leaders are in agreement with the analysts' predictions”.
The Panelists include: Elliot Gold, President, TeleSpan Publishing Corporation, JD Vaughn, Founder and Principal, JD Vaughn Consulting, John Vitale, Vice President of Products, AVI-SPL, and Bill Haskins, Senior Analyst, Wainhouse Research. Additionally, executives from Polycom, Inc. and other industry leaders will round out the panel.
In addition to the state of the industry panel and discussions, the Technical and Engineering Special Interest Group session will offer conference delegates the opportunity to discuss some of the same topics the panels will cover in a smaller and more casual setting. It is a no holds barred, tell it like it is session.” According to VCI-Group Education Chair, Derek Abrams from Oregon State University, “Attendees of this face-to-face collaboration are seeking the ’secret sauces’ of operability & interoperability”. He said conference delegates should “Bring your own ingredients to the conversation along with a technical appetite and savor the flavor of professional collaborations and people networking”.
