Sochi 2014 Ambassador and top model Natalia Vodyanova took part in the Paralympic Torch Relay at the London Games. With Sochi 2014 volunteers cheering her on from the sidelines all the way, she ran her leg along Evelyn Street in Central London. By getting involved in the Paralympic Torch Relay, Natalia once again confirmed her commitment to promoting the next Games in 2014 in Sochi. Previously, in 2010, Vodyanova opened the Paralympic Flag Handover Ceremony from Vancouver 2010 to Sochi 2014.
While in London, Vodyanova is keen to support the Russian Paralympic athletes during their competitive events and to meet many of them in person.
Natalia Vodyanova, a Sochi 2014 Ambassador, remarked:
"It is a great honor for me to carry the Paralympic Torch, the flame of which represents the achievements of the entire Paralympic Movement throughout the world. In London right now, the Paralympic athletes are rightly in the spotlight - they are setting new standards in terms of strength and determination, and will inspire the world!
“As here in London, I'm convinced that the Paralympic Winter Games in 2014 will put into practice the principles of inclusion and integration and that the barrier-free environment established in Sochi during the Games will become a catalyst for profound social change throughout all of Russia."
