Madison Rising - The Star Spangled Banner

Recognizing and celebrating this with a special tribute to the song and giving all the military serviceman and women who risk their lives for our freedom a discount on tickets seemed like the very least we could do.

Patriotic rock band Madison Rising (http://www.madisonrising.com) in partnership with the National Anthem Celebration Foundation is pleased to announce that they will be performing their best-selling rendition of the Star Spangled Banner accompanied by a complete fireworks display at the Charm City Music Festival (http://charmcitymusicfestival.com) in Baltimore, MD on September 15th in honor of Defenders Day weekend. The Charm City Music Festival takes place at the Harbor East Waterfront and features headliner WEEZER; Irish favorites FLOGGING MOLLY; Reggae royalty STEPHEN MARLEY; Rockabilly legends SOUTHERN CULTURE ON THE SKIDS; Alternative rockers EVE 6; and more.

"Our national anthem was written directly across the water from the festival site almost 200 years ago,” says Paul Manna of 24-7 Entertainment. "Recognizing and celebrating this with a special tribute to the song and giving all the military serviceman and women who risk their lives for our freedom a discount on tickets seemed like the very least we could do.”

Earlier this summer, Madison Rising released a widely acclaimed rock version of the Star Spangled Banner, updated with a special addendum to reflect our nation’s struggles at the dawn of the 21st century. Madison Rising’s rendition is currently #1 in several musical categories on Amazon.com and the band itself has launched its One Million Star Spangled Banner Challenge (http://www.starspangledbannerchallenge.com) to offer Americans a fun and meaningful way to show their patriotism by watching the band’s new video and downloading their rendition of the National Anthem directly to their iPods and other devices to play proudly in their cars, at the gym, at the beach or anywhere else they want. With over 600,000 views on YouTube, the band is well on its way to achieving its goal of one million views by Election Day (November 6th).

Madison Rising has recently partnered up with The National Anthem Celebration Foundation (http://www.osaycanyousee.org) regarding their mutual goal of increasing public awareness, education and appreciation for our National Anthem and celebrating the song that identifies us as the land of the free and the home of the brave. The NACF has arranged fireworks for the show to be provided by Digital Lightning, the same company which produced the fireworks display at Baltimore’s Star-Spangled “Sail”- abration in June. “We want to teach the story behind the anthem and pass on to future defenders of those words what they mean and their relevance,” said NACF founder and president, Dan Esmond. “Madison Rising’s rendition engages those future generations and will help motivate them to get involved.”

Madison Rising promotes the principles of liberty, independence, smaller government and personal responsibility. Their mission is not only to make great music, but to also send a message that American culture is alive and well. Madison Rising is currently recording its second album and actively laying the groundwork for a national tour.
