Michael Jackson would have turned 54 yesterday if things had been different. However, due to his unexpected death, his birthday was celebrated with a vigil instead as reported in chicagotribune.com. Meanwhile, GreenBeanBuddy commented that the fact people still commemorate his birthday even after three years from his passing proves that he remains to be the biggest music influence.

According to the report, fans of the King of Pop flocked his family's house in Gary on Wednesday to celebrate his birth. It detailed that the two-bedroom house in 2300 Jackson Street in Gary Indiana was actually where the singer was born back in 1958.

However, unlike the previous years since his death, the report said that MJ's family joined his fans this year to celebrate his birthday. Particularly, the King of Pop's mother and his three kids Prince, Paris and Blanket participated in the event, the report detailed.

The said birthday celebration for Michael Jackson will last for four days.
