Fredericton Tourism Launches the Town Square Social Hub Blog

Organization’s new blog is the perfect place to discover things to do in Fredericton, NB.

The goal of the ‘Town Square Social Hub’ is to engage locals in conversations about everything going on in the city.

Fredericton Tourism is excited to announce the launch of a new component of the interactive “Town Square Social Hub”. The Social Hub Blog, which can be found at http://www.tourismfredericton.ca/blog, will offer information on things to do in Fredericton including festivals and events, attractions, outdoor activities, family fun and Fredericton’s nightlife and live music scene.

The announcement follows development of the “Town Square Social Hub” Facebook and Twitter accounts which were launched in March of 2011 and have already grown a loyal fan base of both local residents and visitors to the capital city.

“The goal of the ‘Town Square Social Hub’ is to engage locals in conversations about everything going on in the city. The development of the blog gives us a platform to further expand the story and share information with our fans – which we will then amplify via our social media platforms,” explains Social Media Tourism Coordinator Stacey Russell.

Fredericton Tourism has assembled a team of active Fredericton, NB bloggers for the new social outlet. Leading the charge is Heather Allaby of The Glad Girl. Heather brings a strong background in Fredericton’s cultural and culinary scenes, among other things. Emma Chevarie will be blogging about Fredericton’s music festivals and nightlife and answering the pressing question of “who’s playing this weekend?” while giving readers a lay of the land when it comes to enjoying Fredericton entertainment.

Rounding out the trio is Fredericton Tourism’s own Mary Ellen Hudson. Mary Ellen will be blogging about her family adventures with her two daughters, husband and puppy. She has long been a great ambassador for all the family activities Fredericton has to offer. “This group of Fredericton bloggers is a natural fit for Fredericton Tourism. Their areas of expertise reflect the cultural dynamisms emerging in Fredericton and will offer the background information our fans need in helping them make their decisions on things to do in Fredericton,” says Russell.
